Liverpool FC star Mohamed Salah
Jurgen Klopp was clearly frustrated at the relentless questions about Mo Salah’s fitness after their prolific goal-scorer missed Liverpool FC’s 0-0 draw at Everton on Saturday.
The Egypt international sat out the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park due to a groin problem that the Liverpool FC star suffered in their Champions League game.
Salah broke the deadlock in the Reds’ 3-0 win over Manchester City in the first leg of their quarter-final at Anfield before he came off in the second half.
The African forward has scored 38 times in all competitions in the current campaign to help Liverpool FC reach the Champions League last eight.
Klopp omitted Salah from his matchday squad for this weekend’s derby ahead of the second leg at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.
Asked during his post-match media conference about Salah’s fitness after Liverpool FC’s goalless draw at Everton, Klopp said:
“I don’t get a ticker every five minutes of how he feels so I don’t know! That’s what everybody thinks [that he’ll be available at Etihad Stadium] but in the end we will see.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term but the Reds are on course to finish in the Champions League spots again this term.
The Reds signed Salah in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in the 2017 summer transfer window.
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Champions League since 2005.
