Senate president Bukola Saraki has appointed a former federal lawmaker Senator Danladi Abubakar as his Special Adviser on Special Duties.
The appointment of Senator Abubakar, who represented Taraba North Senatorial District, was announced in a statement issued by Saraki’s special adviser on media and publicity Yusuph Olaniyonu on Sunday, April 8 in Abuja.
The statement, which was sent to NAIJ.com, said the appointment was with immediate effect.
The statement, in profiling 53-year-old Abubakar, said he served in the current 8th Nigerian Senate, where he served as Chairman of the Committee on NEPAD and member of other committees.
NAIJ.com had reported last year that Abubakar Danladi representing Taraba north constituency in the Nigerian Senate was sacked by the Supreme Court which also declared Shuaibu Lau as the authentic owner of the senatorial seat.
The apex court in its ruling on Friday, June 23, also ordered Danladi to refund all salaries and allowances earned in the Senate within 90 days, Premium Times reports.
Danladi was the first deputy governor who ran on the same ticket with former governor, Dantata Suntai.
