The former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi . Twitter
Immediate past governor of Anambra state Peter Obi has said that Nigerian youths only need the right environment to flourish.
Obi made this assertion at the 10th Anniversary celebration of Nnamdi Azikiwe radio station, UNIZIK 94.1FM.
The comment comes on the heels ofremarks by President Muhammadu Buhari that many Nigerian youths are not willing to work and are always looking out for freeebies.
However, Obi said if the governance is gotten right, Nigerian youths can do exceptionally well.
“Unemployment is as a result of accumulated bad leadership. There are jobs out there for you and the first job is to ensure good governance,” Obi added.
That you can achieve by voicing out your opinion on national issues and questioning what is happening.
“It is unfortunate that a nation like China which was at par with Nigeria, has so much outgrown her, with her GDP rising from $10.5b to $3trillion.”
The former governor referred to Nigeria as a failed state, with over 10million out of school children and 15m unemployed youths.
