Atletico legend, Fernando Torres, has revealed that this will be his last season with the Madrid club.
The striker joined the club at age 10 and went on to spend twelve years at the club before moving to Liverpool.
At the Merseyside, he was a great addition, teaming up well with Stephen Gerard and scoring 65 goals in 102 league appearances before moving to Chelsea.
At the London club, Torres had a horrendous time, suffering from a dip in form and injuries before finally linking up with Atletico again in 2015 where he went on to regain form and score 92 La Liga goals.
Speaking to the press, Torres said he will end his romance with Atletico Madrid, but that he will keep on playing.
“When I joined Atletico I was 10 years old and it’s my house. I was lucky to debut, to play, to score goals… it’s always been my home. I can have many houses, but only one home,” he said
“I’ve been part of an Atletico side that is always able to fight for titles and it’ll always be my home. It has been for my whole life.
“This is my last season at the club – it was not an easy decision, but under the circumstances it’s maybe for the best.
“I want to continue playing somewhere else. I feel good.”
