Conte reveals who is to blame for Chelsea's poor results this season

Antonio Conte has insisted everyone at Chelsea must take a shared responsibility for the poor season that the Blues have suffered in the 2017/18 campaign.

The Blues were not even close to retaining their Premier League title, with Manchester City 28 points better off than Conte's side, and they are now struggling to make next season's Champions League.

Tottenham Hotspur are currently eight points above their west London rivals with seven games to go, while Conte's outfit also crashed out of Champions League in the last 16 to Barcelona.

The Blues were beaten by Arsenal in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup and only have the FA Cup as their last chance to win some silverware this season.

That has been below par for what would have been expected this season from the side and Conte, who is coming under an increasing amount of pressure, believes the finger must be pointed around the club.

"In every season for the final result you have to share the responsibility," Conte said. "With the club, with the coach, with the players. It is normal, this.

"Whether you win or whether you lose, in every moment, you have to share the responsibility. It is impossible to find a fault in only one of these three parts.

"You have to share, you have to understand which are the reasons about this result. To understand which is the responsibility, the percentage of the responsibility between these three parts – club, coach and players. This is very easy."

Chelsea host West Ham on Sunday afternoon following the Blues' poor 3-1 loss to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

With the Hammers beating Southampton 3-0 in their previous game and battling to stay in the Premier League, David Moyes' side will probably go into the game with more confidence than the Blues.

But with the mood of the players maybes down, Conte has called on them to show the right fire to get themselves back to winning ways.

"The best method is to work, to continue to work, and to try to put everything, every day, to try to help them, to change the situation," Conte added.

"But as you know very well the players play the game, not the coach. The coach can prepare the game but then there are the players who go on the pitch to fight with the right desire, to fight with pride, with the will to win the game.
