Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane has stated that his side cannot solely depend on forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, to get good results when they battle Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final match on Wednesday.
Zidane hopes other Los Blancos players will come to the fore against the German champions after Ronaldo scored an exquisite back-heel, to rescue a point for Real in their 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao in the La Liga on Wednesday night.
“We can think there will be other players as well as Cristiano who could make the difference in Munich,” Zidane told reporters after yesterday’s draw against Bilbao.
“We have to stay focused because it’s a Champions League semi-final and we’re defending our title.”
The result against Bilbao ended Real Madrid La Liga League defence, though they do maintain hopes of securing a third successive Champions League title – a feat last achieved when Bayern Munich won the European Cup from 1974 to 1976.
